A Quick How-To

Put random comments in any post labeled Open Thread, preferably a current one, please.

The anonymous way: You can comment without an account on almost anything posted to the site, but please STAY ON TOPIC. It's best to get an account so that we can keep all the anonymii straight, but if you absolutely cannot or will not get a hotmail account or something to attach to your OMI account, then you're stuck commenting on other people's entries.

UPDATE 7/20/06: Anonymous posting has been turned back on, but now anonymous posts must be approved by the blog fairies. That means your post won't show up right away.

The really anonymous way: Send an email tip to desk AT oregonmediainsiders.com. I'll do my best to check your tip out. If you want to be ABSOLUTELY SURE you're untrackable (which, let's face it, probably isn't necessary), use a hotmail or other account and send it from somewhere other than work or home--take the ol' laptop to a wifi hotspot.

The preferred way: Register for an account. You don't have to use your real name, though you do need to have a verifiable email address of some kind. Registered users can blog. Click on create content in the menu to the left under your user name and you'll see the blog choice. If you're too shy to post a blog entry of your own, send a private message to me (or any other registered user).
